This program is intended to meet the needs of professional ecologists, hydrologists, soil scientists, educators, agency professionals, consultants, and others who practice wetland science.
Is it OK to include the SWSPCP logo on documents? 3/5/15
That is a question we hear frequently. There are some permissible uses of the logo on personal documents or social media. The first thing to keep in mind is that the logo is owned by SWSPCP, with trademark pending. Please click on the link to learn about Trademark Infringement.
SWSPCP Body of Knowledge Survey 2/18/15
The Society of Wetland Scientists Professional Certification Program (SWSPCP) is accredited by the Council of Engineering & Science Specialty Boards (CESB). CESB accreditation requires that the SWSPCP create and maintain a Body of Knowledge (document) that outlines specific skills, knowledge, and abilities that a Professional Wetland Scientist should possess.

ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING SWSPCP's MAINTENANCE FEE IN 12/30/14
Starting January 1st 2015 SWSPCP will be amending the fees for the annual PWS maintenance fee, the five year PWS renewal fee, and the one time Emeritus fee by a minimal $25 increase.
The SWSPCP Board unanimously voted to increase these fees after thorough review and due diligence reviewing the current financial and budget demands. The fees have remained the same for the past five years and will be effective for years to come. The remaining fee structure will remain intact.
2015 Annual Meeting 12/5/14

The Society of Wetland Scientists was formed to further non-profit scientific and educational objectives related to wetland science, thus encouraging and strengthening professional standards in all activities related to wetland science. The Society deleloped this program for certification of wetland science training and experience as a separate not-for-profit corporation. Learn more at www.sws.org.
The SWS Professional Certification Program is accredited by the Council of Engineering and Science Specialty Boards. The Council of Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards (CESB) is an independent, voluntary membership body created for its member organizations who recognize, through specialty certification, the expertise of individuals practicing in engineering and related fields. Its creation on April 24, 1990 was the culmination of organizing work by volunteers from among the 130 attendees (23 organizations represented) who participated in the April 1988 National Conference on Engineering Specialty Certification.
